New roof being installed at Kangahun Primary School

SLC Primary School Kangahun, in Moyamba District, was in a very poor condition, and EWA was asked to help improve the learning environment before the children return to school in September. Two West Sussex schools have held fundraising events recently and made donations to EWA. Arundel CE Primary School raised £91.50, and St Mary's CE Primary School in Pulborough raised £185 at their school fete. EWA would like to thank the staff and pupils at both schools -

EWA would like to thank Emeric Coker, Diocesan Education Secretary in Freetown, for his work with schools and his support for our work. We were deeply saddened to learn recently of Emeric's death after a short illness, and we will miss his regular contact updating us on the projects -
Bopani school completed

The new school for the children of the remote village of Bopani has now been completed, and the whole community is delighted. The children of Bopani used to have to learn in a small thatched hut, but now have a proper building with three classrooms and an office/store. This -

Pulborough Pancake Day raises £1183

A huge thank you to the people of Pulborough for raising £1,183 for EWA on Shrove Tuesday. They cooked and sold pancakes all day and organised a tombola. EWA is delighted to be one of the three charities supported by this event. Special thanks to EWA Chair Alyson
